Casa Program
Avalon’s Casa Program is a prepared space where social skills flourish. Children are free to work independently or collaborate with their peers, learning the value of cooperation and respect — fostering a close-knit community where young learners support one another’s growth.

About
A Peaceful Foundation for Your Child
Creating an environment where academic excellence naturally follows emotional security.
Social Connection
As children grow, they naturally turn toward their peers. We foster this through collaborative projects and peer teaching, building social confidence.
Holistic Health
We provide a nutritionally balanced hot lunch daily, ensuring a safe environment for all dietary needs and allergies.
Inclusive Learning
We welcome children of all abilities, recognizing each child as a unique individual and reflecting their home culture in our daily program.
Our Curriculum
An Enriching Experience for Your Child
Five core areas, each designed to refine the senses and build foundational academic skills without overwhelming your child.
Practical Life
Everyday activities form a comforting link between home and school, meeting the child’s need for independence and coordination while fostering self-esteem.
Sensorial Education
Activities help children make sense of the world, refining the senses and providing a foundation for mathematics and writing.
Mathematics
Concrete materials build understanding of number concepts and operations — quantity and symbol, the decimal system, and basic operations.
Language
Fostered through self-expression, lessons, and conversation. Children learn phonetic letter sounds, enabling word-building and the start of reading.
Culture
Geography, history, zoology, botany, and science open the child’s eyes to the world, alongside music, art, physical education, and field trips.

A hot, catered, nutritious lunch for all full-day Casa students. We are a nut-aware zone; daily snacks are provided by parents on a rotating basis.
Clothing & Comfort
Casa students are not required to wear uniforms. We encourage comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that allows free movement and independence.
Extended Care
Before school 8:00–8:30am. After school: Wood Glen 3:45–5:00pm; Beach 3:45–6:00pm.
Communication & Partnership
Regular communication tools keep you updated, plus Parent Information Nights to help you understand the Montessori journey and your child’s milestones.
Limit Setting
Our Approach to Positive Guidance
We focus on guiding safe behaviours through respect and empathy rather than pressure.
Positive Reinforcement
We use praise and gentle encouragement to help children obtain a sense of pride and self-worth.
Redirection
If a child is frustrated or bored, we help them find an alternative activity that meets their developmental needs.
Clear Limits & Respect
We set expectations in a consistent, caring manner, respecting every child’s feelings, work, and peers.
Calming Quiet Time
A quiet spot in the room helps a child consider their behaviour and return to a state of calm.
